First Capitol St. Charles

Oil painting with brush and palette knife on 16 x 20 canvas board.  Started at Riverfront Paint Out en plein air and finished in studio.

BlueGreen Impression

Did this today at Artists of Grace transparent watercolor on 12 x 16 Arches paper for Lots of Landscapes and with thoughts of the next Framations show. I was late and no one was there, but working was good until Zoomba started. The drums got to me after a while :)

Fealing Lin Watercolor Artist

To be true to your gifts, be both inspired and inspiring – then you can express your love, your passion, your strength and your belief in the human spirit. -- Fealing Lin

Ship of Dreams

Understanding Painting

"Any good landscape painting I've ever done was also simple. Whether it was a plain air painting that took an hour or a large studio painting that took months, I had to find a way to translate the vast amount of detail into a coherent statement that makes sense not only for me but to the viewer."
-- Mitchell Albala, from his book,  Landscape Painting.
